Bassnectar is the brainchild of Lorin Ashton, and it exists as an open-sourced musical project that is as diverse as it is heavy, as raw as it is meticulous, and as fierce as it is imaginary. Spanning the spectrum of sonic style, the music covers every genre imaginable and smashes it all into a synthesis of intense, wobbling basslines and hypnotic soundscapes.

Conjure One (Ryhs Fulber of Front Line Assembly and Delerium)
For nearly ten years, electronic pioneer / Juno Award winner Rhys Fulber has grown to become comfortable with himself, taking complete control of his own experimental destiny. After years of nurturing fans in the Industrial circuit as a member of Front Line Assembly with founding member Bill Leeb, Fulber sidelined the fantasy angst of the genre and reteamed with Leeb in a splinter outfit to explore a new dimension, ambient pop. Delerium was the unexpected result. As a string of hit dance singles mounted across the globe, including the crossover Billboard Adult hit "Silence" featuring Sarah McLachlan on vocals, the tag-team of Fulber & Leeb were at the head of the class once again.

Though it was afternoon, the shades in the studio were pulled tight, which seemed appropriate for a Scissor Sisters rehearsal. Nighttime suits this band, which got its start playing flamboyant dance-pop at late-late gigs on the Lower East Side and in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, always with the idea that the best stuff happens in the wee hours, in the dark, when anything, or anyone, is possible.
Opening the night is long-time Scissor Sisters "Tour DJ," Sammy Jo.

Seamlessly bending stylistic constraints by creating a fusion of industrial, electro-acoustic, ambient, rhythmic noise, psy-trance and break-core, Iszoloscope sets an exceptional standard in hybrid electronic music.
Ad-ver-sary is conquering minds and destroying dancefloors with his critically-acclaimed album "Bone Music" on Tympanik Audio. Hard Industrial rhythms meet enormous organic soundscapes to create what Re:Gen Magazine calls "...a balance between the brutal and the beautiful." Featuring remixes by Antigen Shift, Tonikom, and Synapscape. Mastered by Yann Faussurier of Iszoloscope.
iVardensphere's goals are simple: the creation of music that will make you move. With a fierce blend of dance floor punch, thick analogue sound and tribal influence, iVardensphere is set to tear apart floors across the world.

WTII Records and Redlight Productions are proud to bring back one of our favorite acts to have played Darkroom in 2009, Ego Likeness. After tearing up the stage alongside scene veterans, Bella Morte, and Versailles. Ego Likesness decided to strike out on their own headlining tour in support of their latest full length album, Breedless, on Metropolis Records.
This time they have brought their friends, The Ludovico Technique along with them. As a special bonus we were able to secure local favorites, Short To Ground, who absolutely stole the show away the last time that they played one of the WTII Records Showcases and made Chicago stand up and take notice that they were not to be left out of any conversation when discussing the Chicago "industrial music resurgence."

The New York City-based trio Rasputina was led by singer/songwriter Melora Creager, a classically-trained cellist who backed Nirvana on the group's final tour. In 1992, Creager placed a want ad seeking other cellists to form a rock band; among those responding was Canadian musician Julie Kent, and with the later addition of Polish native Agnieszka Rybska, Rasputina was born. The three cellists' image further developed by the addition of tightly-laced vintage Victorian costumes, their gothic chamber-pop soon caught the attention of Sony, who issued the group's debut Thanks for the Ether in 1996; Transylvanian Regurgitations, an EP featuring remixes by fan Marilyn Manson, appeared a year later, and in 1998 Rasputina resurfaced with How We Quit the Forest.
By the new millennium, Rybska and Kent had been replaced with Nana Bornant and K. Cowperthwaite. A deal with Instinct surfaced in 2001 and the magical mystery of Cabin Fever appeared the following spring. Bornant's stay was brief; she left in June 2002 and Cowperthwaite followed four months later. Zoe Keating (cello) and first ever male bandmate Jonathon TeBeest were quickly added to the beautiful chaos of Rasputina just in time for the 2003 release of the Lost & Found EP. Frustration Plantation, their most cohesive work to date, appeared in spring 2004. In 2007 the group released Oh Perilous World, a loosely-connected song suite culled from newspaper clippings that lead singer Melora Creager gathered over a two year period, then juxtaposed with the band's signature 18th century steampunk imagery.

Ginger Fish has been drumming in Marilyn Manson since 1995. His simple yet powerful approach has been the driving force behind Manson's hit albums: Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals. Ginger cleverly combines modern drum sequencing and sample loops with traditional drum instruments. Along with an Akai MPC sampler, Ginger uses a double bass/multi-tom drumkit and an array of Z Custom range cymbals to complete his sound. Ginger's unique style and approach to playing have earned him much acclaim and have helped the band reach multi-platinum status. He has been featured in interviews with Modern Drummer and Drum Magazines.
Ginger, a left handed drummer who sets-up right handed, always goes for simplicity and taste in his approach to his playing. According to Ginger, this is why he landed the Manson gig and has been the drummer for this band ever since. Check out Ginger's potent playing on Manson's most recent release Holy Wood (In The Valley Of The Shadow Of Death). For more information on Ginger and Marilyn Mansion please see the band's official website at www.marilynmanson.com.

Darkroom
2210 W. Chicago Ave. | Chicago | IL | 60622
$6 | 21+ w/ ID | Doors at 7pm
CAUSTIC
Caustic is like a gnat that won't stop buzzing in your ear, especially if that gnat is a big loud bald dude that relentlessly pounds distorted dance beats into your skull. Started in 2002 by Madison, WI's Matt Fanale, Caustic has built a surprisingly impressive grassroots fanbase with his combination of unpredictable, anarchic live shows (generally accompanied by The Gothsicles on live duties) and DIY fuck-all attitude.
THE DARK CLAN
Like Jimmy Eat World trying to stop the Dragonforce guys from stealing The Postal Service's lunch money, The Dark Clan is a heartbreakingly sincere, over-the-top, genre-bending good time. The music of The Dark Clan is filled with big pop hooks, big fat beats, big vocal harmonies, big guitar solos, and big serious fun.
NULL DEVICE
Madison, WI -based electronic band Null Device is releasing their fourth full-length album, Suspending Belief, June 22nd on Nilaihah Records, to coincide with their first US tour. Building on their previous works, the new album continues to fuse contemporary club music styles with traditional elements from the Middle East and India. Suspending Belief combines the most inspired bits of Bollywood filmi, Panjabi bhangra, Arabic classical poetry, trance, house, dubstep, and breakbeat with strong vocals and compelling pop hooks. From 8th-century sufi poetry soaring over euphoric trance, to glitch-hop tweaking bollywood riffs, to bhangra dhols anchoring grungy electro-pop, the sounds of Suspending Belief occupy a unique place in independent electronic music.
AM PSYCH
am.psych is a coldwave revival, offset by synth-rich ebm influences. Since February of 2003, they've played at venues across the mid-west, dedicating heavy support to fellow local Milwaukee artists and friends such as Lockjaw, Incekt and Reticent Crush. They have also logged some measure of time in more lucrative one-off bookings, such as in support of Skinny Puppy at Milwaukee's Rave/Eagle's Ballroom in November of 2004, Acumen Nation in September of 2005, Chemlab's "Detonation Days" tour in November of 2007, and in support of Invisible Records' Project .44 alongside Chicago staples, JILT.

Born in 1988 in Chicago, Die Warzau would be just about old enough to legally drink right now, which is fantastic, really, because a lot of bands out there are, I don't want to say drinking "a lot" but, let's face it, they aren't exactly taking it easy. Let's take Creed, for example. They've been around since, what, 1995? this makes them about 14 years old. And they fucking drink like fish. I mean, seriously, listen to "Weathered" and tell me that they weren't swimming in Jack or something. Completely lit. And 14 years old. It's wrong.
Chicago's I:Scintilla (pronounced eye-sin-til-uh) have jumped from recording demo songs in a bedroom to collaborating with some of modern music's best artists and releasing music on an international level. Fronted by Brittany Bindrim (vocals/words) and backed by Jim Cookas (guitar/programming), Vincent Grech (drums), and Brent Leitner (guitar/programming), the group seamlessly fuses electronic and rock elements while pushing the boundaries of pop music. Bindrim's intensely seductive voice and insightful words paint a dark picture of loss, redemption, and introspection and are delivered via insatiably catchy hooks. The music drapes the mood with intricately layered synthesizers, grinding guitar riffs, and a mix of live and programmed drums. The quartet's unique sound has drawn comparisons to Garbage, Curve, and The Birthday Massacre.
Cruciform Injection is a Chicago-based electro-industrial band. The main member is Micah Skaritka, vocals and sequencing. Kassi plays keyboards for live shows, and Brendan7 plays guitar. Every album has many remixes from large European electronic music artists.
The Dead Room are an industrial/synth-pop band with an unrelenting hard hitting message for society. A brand new twist,a remix,on Timothy Leary's, "Turn on, tune in... think for yourself and question authority," that would make the anti-establisment crusader proud.
